About the author...
New Jersey native Gregory Young began experiencing
paranormal events in his home in the year 2004. Ghosts and
spirits were never on his mind when he bought the 100 year old
home. Ghosts and spirits were never a hobby of his and the
entire concept of ghosts and spirits appearing in his house
sounded much like a fantasy. In other words, this was nothing that
he went looking for. But when things started appearing and
disappearing around the house, pictures would tilt behind his back,
the kitchen range would work itself, lights would go off and on by
themselves, and doors would unlock on their own, he knew he had
something going on. The ghost stories go on and on...
He began documenting the paranormal events and sticking
them into a folder for his own keepsake.
Finally, after conferring with different psychics from
around the state, it was confirmed that his house was haunted.
Living with ghosts and spirits in a real haunted house was
not something that he wanted for himself and his then five year old
son, but what was he to do? So now, in addition to the leaky roof,
the structural damage to the second floor, the old foul wall to wall
carpet and termite damage throughout, he also had ghosts and
spirits occupying the home.
As his folder of evidence got thicker, and as his nerves became
more unstable, he finally put his incredible tale on paper and
called it, A Father A Son and A House Full of Ghosts. A
Father A Son and A House Full of Ghosts is a true story. The
book starts at the beginning from first buying the house and his
new wife sensing a presence, to actually finding out who these
ghosts and spirits were, when they lived, when they died and most
important, why they were there.
After researching the history of the house, and the history of
his spirits, he continued to work with a psychic medium
who would visit the house every four months and explain to him who
was visiting, what time frames they were from and what they were
doing. The medium, by the name of Sharon, is a psychic channeler
who channels the spirit of Ma-Ryah. Sharon has been able to
communicate with ghosts and spirits since she was nine years old.
As the paranormal events continued, one year later
Gregory Young released, A Father A Son and A House Full of Ghosts
Book 2. This was the sequel and continuation of the three spirits
living permanently in his home as well as the other ghosts and
spirits passing through. This book also delves into the possibility
of reincarnation and past lives and takes into account 22
other stories from people and their own personal paranormal
encounters.
Currently, the paranormal events continue and he keeps a
running folder describing each event for a possible third ghost
book.
With the release of A Father A Son and A House Full of Ghosts
and A Father A Son and A House Full of Ghosts Book 2, Jettybooks was
then born. Jettybooks is a website that is growing across the
country on the subjects of ghosts, spirits, hauntings and the
paranormal.
People always ask him, “Why don’t you just ask your ghosts to
leave? Do you enjoy living in a haunted house?” The answer is
that they give me a lot to write about and a lot to talk about.
They gave me a writing career. And since they like living in this
house with my son and I, I don’t mind having them here. Living in a
real haunted house really isn’t all that bad. They are
friendly and do things around the house just to get our attention to
simply say “hello.” We have learned to embrace them, accept our
unique situation and treat them as part of our family.
Recently, Gregory Young has added new titles to the Jettybook’s
website such as, Over 100 Reasons Why Men Should Never Marry,
and the book, 10 Holiday Plays for 4th, 5th and 6th Graders.
Over 100 reasons Why Men Should Never Marry is a
satirical mockery of the nation’s divorce system. Having been
through the divorce system himself, he understood the agony,
stress, expense and strain that divorce proceedings put on the
entire family. Divorce is no laughing matter but this book will
have you chuckling all the way through it. The quotes alone from
famous people like Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin are enough
to make one realize that the relationships between men and women,
and marriage and divorce haven’t changed much since the two
genders have been on the planet.
The latest book to join the Jettybook’s website is a book of
holiday plays for children. These elementary school plays
will grab the attention of a teacher’s classroom of children
immediately and won’t let it go. Each holiday play for children
has between 19 and 25 parts and last about 20-25 minutes once the
performance is polished.
These school age plays can be performed on stage or
simply as a read aloud in the classroom. Whatever the case, they
will be enjoyed and remembered for a long time to come.
As a fourth grade teacher himself, Gregory Young could see the
need for elementary school plays that had a lot of parts.
All of the school age plays that he came across had enough
parts for only half of a class. These elementary school plays
are different. There are enough plays for everyone and the stories
are fantastic. Each holiday play has its own tale and will
bring to life the spirit of the holiday and the reason we celebrate
it in the first place.
These holiday plays are recommended for any fourth,
fifth or sixth grade classroom. But that doesn’t mean that a high
end third grade wouldn’t also enjoy them or a seventh grade. These
school age plays can be enjoyed by all.
Gregory Young has one son named Joseph and a dog named Shadow.
They currently live in Somers Point, NJ in the same house of which
the ghost books were written.
